There are still no answers about a man who went missing more than a decade ago, despite hundreds of police interviews.

Kyle Vaughan, from Newbridge, Caerphilly county, has not been seen since he left home for the evening on 30 December 2012, aged 24.

His car was in a crash on the same day.

Gwent Police said it had interviewed more than 200 people, received about 180 intelligence logs and taken almost 900 witness statements.

"We still don't have the answers we need and Kyle's family so desperately want," the force said.

A missing person enquiry was initially launched which then became a murder investigation.

Mr Vaughan's mother, Mary Lucas, died from cancer in 2018, not knowing what happened to him.

However, she believed he was dead and pleaded with her son's killers to say where his remains were buried.

The car Mr Vaughan was driving on the day of his disappearance, a silver Peugeot 306, was involved in a single vehicle collision on the A467 between Crosskeys and Risca.

It was believed Mr Vaughan - known as "Jabbers" to his friends - was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat, a dark coloured t-shirt, denim shorts, white trainers, and a gold chain.

Det Ch Supt Nicky Brain, Gwent Police's head of crime, said the investigation "remains very much active".

The force added anyone with information was urged to get in touch.
