National Grid extends Powys substation consultation
The National Grid is giving residents more time to view its plans for a 19-acre electricity substation in north Powys.
It follows a decision by ScottishPower to do the same over its plans for dozes of pylons in mid Wales.
Two sites at Abermule, near Newtown, and Cefn Coch, near Llanfair Caereinion have been suggested for the substation.
The grid also has plans for pylons, linking the substation to the transmission network.
ScottishPower intends to connect at least 10 planned wind farms to the National Grid's development.
The grid is adding five exhibitions to its existing total of 48, and will stage events in Mochdre, near Newtown on Monday, Maesbury, near Oswestry, Shropshire, on 23 May, Llansanffraid, near Welshpool, on 24 May, Four Crosses, near Welshpool on 25 May and Adfa, near Newtown, on 26 May.
