A55 lorry fire blocks traffic at Ewloe

Smoke from a lorry fire on the A55 in Flintshire has led to the eastbound carriageway being closed at Junction 23 Ewloe with heavy congestion to Junction 34.

Traffic Wales says heavy congestion has blocked the carriageway after a lorry jack-knifed and overturned.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the scene shortly after 15:25 BST.

Two crews from Deeside and Buckley are at the scene.

The lorry driver has escaped serious injury.

North Wales Police later said the section of the road would remain closed until at least 21:00 BST.
