Walker dies after fall on Snowdon

A walker has died after falling on Snowdon on Saturday.

The man, understood to be in his 20s, was found by other ramblers on a 2,500ft (760m) ridge on the mountain.

His body was recovered by members of the Llanberis and Aberglaslyn mountain rescue teams before being flown to hospital in Bangor.

The same Sea King crew from RAF Valley was then called to the aid of a paraglider who needed hospital treatment after his canopy failed.

The paraglider incident happened at Llantysilio near the Horseshoe Pass in Denbighshire.

The man, from Mold in Flintshire, fell some 40ft (12m) after his parachute canopy malfunctioned.

He was assisted by members of the North East Wales Search and Rescue team before being airlifted to Maelor Hospital in Wrexham with suspected back injuries.
