Castle Bakery shuts after 130 years with jobs lost

A bakery firm, which has traded in north Wales for 130 years, has closed with the loss of dozens of jobs.
Castle Bakery, founded in 1885, shut its six shops in Caernarfon, Bangor, Menai Bridge, Beaumaris and Holyhead on Saturday afternoon.
The family-run company was founded by William Roberts on his return to Anglesey after a period in the colony in Patagonia, Argentina.
The firm, which has its headquarters in Beaumaris, refused to comment.
Employees Michelle Humphreys and Linda Hughes said closure had come as a 'shock'
Employee Linda Hughes, from the Menai Bridge bakery, said news of the closure had come as a "shock".
"This is my family, my second home," she said.
The company's website said it served more than one million customers a year and previously baked for the Royal family.
