Safety study for 'busy' Snowdonia Ogwen Lake A5 road
A safety study on a "busy" section of the A5 in Snowdonia has been welcomed by campaigners.
An online petition was started calling for a lowering of the speed limit on part of the trunk road near Ogwen Lake to 40 mph.
Campaigners said cars often mount the pavement to park, forcing walkers, wheelchair users and people with prams to walk on the road to pass.
The Welsh Government said a study considering speed data was under way.
Guto Roberts, who started the petition, said: "Someone could be seriously injured or even killed if nothing is done about the situation."
The campaigners are also calling for changes to ensure space for pedestrians on the pavement, or an alternative path.
A Welsh Government spokesman said: "This study is currently underway and is actively considering speed data.
"We have also made sure that the online petition is being considered as part of the safety study. Once we have received the study we will consider our next steps."
