A bearded dragon, which is native to desert scrublands in Australia, has been found on a Welsh mountain.

The reptile is thought to have been dumped on the Rhigos Mountain near Treorchy in the south Wales valleys and was spotted "lethargic and cold" inside a vivarium.

Bearded dragons can live up to 10 years and can grow to around 600mm in length. They need temperatures of between 28C and 40C to survive.

The RSPCA is investigating.
