An 18-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in Cardiff on Sunday.

Armed police were deployed to Meteor Street, Adamsdown after a man from the Gabalfa area was stabbed at 13:10 BST.

The victim was taken to the University Hospital of Wales.

A South Wales Police spokesman said the armed police have been stood down as there is no longer a risk to the public.

"Inquiries continue in the search for the offender," he said.
