Death of woman found in Drogheda house not suspicious

The death of a woman at a house in Drogheda, County Louth, is not being treated as suspicious.

The woman, who was in her 60s, was pronounced dead shortly after emergency services were called to a house in the Aston Village area at about 05:00 BST on Sunday.

Gardai (Irish police) earlier said they had launched an investigation.

However, they later clarified that the woman's death is not being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on Sunday afternoon.

Deputy State Pathologist Michael Curtis attended the scene and conducted a preliminary investigation.
