A campaign has begun to save the flumes at Guernsey's Beau Sejour leisure centre from closure.

The water slides are set to close at the end of the year as the Culture and Leisure Department looks to save money.

Sisters Kelly and Lynsey de Carteret have appealed to businesses to come up with the £30,000 needed to keep the flumes open for a further two years.

The cost of replacing the flumes, which have been in place for 20 years has been estimated at £140,000.

The sisters have the support of more than 800 Facebook users and hope to raise the necessary funds by Christmas.
