A senior politician has been accused of misleading the States during a speech about a potential runway extension in Guernsey.
A code of conduct complaint was made against Deputy Lyndon Trott, vice-president of the Policy and Resources Committee, on Tuesday.
Deputy Trott said he had "absolute confidence" he had adhered to the code.
The complaint surrounds comments he made during a speech in December about the length of the runway on the island.
Retired pilot Mervyn Dacey, who made the complaint, accused Deputy Trott of misleading the States "multiple times" during the speech and breaching numerous sections of the States Members' Code of Conduct.
The independent States Members' Conduct Panel will examine the claim.
Mr Trott has previously served at the highest levels of the island's government, and has formerly been treasury minister and chief minister.
Deputy Trott said that throughout his entire political career as a deputy he had "always adhered to both the letter and spirit of the States Members' Code of Conduct".
