Syndicate of Guernsey teachers wins 拢695k lottery prize

A syndicate of teachers from a school in Guernsey has scooped the 拢695,000 top prize in the Christmas lottery.

The teachers from La Mare de Carteret school have decided to remain anonymous but said in a statement it was "a wonderful Christmas surprise".

The prize was lower than previous years, where first prize regularly topped 拢1m.

There was a second prize of 拢50,000 in addition to five lots of 拢10,000 for third prizes.
