Technical fault causes Isle of Man ferry disruption
- Published
Two ferry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire had to be cancelled due a technical issue with the vessel, the operator has said.
Friday's morning's Ben-my-Chree journey from Douglas to Heysham and its afternoon return were both scrapped.
A spokesman for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said its technical team had now resolved the issue and sailings would resume.
The the 19:15 GMT crossing from Douglas would depart as scheduled, he added.
However, due to adverse weather in the Irish Sea, the vessel's Saturday morning return journey had been brought forward by 45 minutes to 01:00.
The Ben-my-Chree is the island's only passenger vessel in operation during the winter season.
