High winds see Isle of Man-UK ferries cancelled
- Published
Sailings between the Isle of Man and Liverpool have been cancelled due to the threat of high winds, the island's ferry operator has said.
The Steam Packet Company said the Manannan did not sail at 14:00 BST as winds were predicted to reach gale force eight across the Irish Sea.
It said the Manxman and Ben-my-Chree crossings to Lancashire were unaffected and the Manannan was due back at 19:15.
Ronaldsway Met Office said the strong were due to die down by late afternoon.
The firm said changes had also been made to Friday's sailings as the bad weather was set to continue.
The 13:30 Manannan departure to Liverpool was now due to leave an hour earlier at 12:30 and its return would depart at 17:15.
