Manx out-of-hours doctors helpline to close overnight for three days
- Published
An out-of-hours emergency doctors helpline will close from midnight until 08:00 BST for three days, Manx Care has confirmed.
The health care provider said the Manx Emergency Doctor (Meds) service would have to be suspended due to a lack of staff between Tuesday and Thursday.
People have been told to use the emergency department at Noble's Hospital for urgent care instead.
In emergency cases, 999 should still be called, a spokeswoman said.
Calls to the Meds phone number during the period would be diverted to a switchboard at the hospital and "signposted appropriately", she added.
The service has previously been suspended for training purposes and due to staff sickness.
