Education minister to defend Jersey school GCSE results

Jersey's Education Minister will be asked about his policy on publishing school exam results.

It is part of a review by the States of Jersey Education and Home Affairs scrutiny panel.

It comes after recent GCSE figures revealed pass rates in local States secondary schools were worse than most of the UK.

John Mills, a former chief officer whose research led to the release of the figures, will also be questioned.

Deputy Roy Le H茅rissier, the chairman of the review, said people in Jersey needed to be sure the minister was held accountable for his policy, and that action would be taken if needed.
