John Nettles named as Jersey Opera House patron
Bergerac and Midsomer Murders actor John Nettles is to be the patron of the Friends of the Jersey Opera House.
He said the theatre was an island treasure that housed memories of the best of Jersey life.
John Nettles has strong links to Jersey after playing Jim Bergerac in detective show Bergerac in the 1980s.
The theatre is being refurbished in April funded by public money set aside to help the island through the recession.
Theatre director Jasmine Hendry said it was fantastic to have Mr Nettles as patron.
The Chairman of the Jersey Opera House Pierre Horsfall said Mr Nettles' commitment should encourage more people to get involved with the theatre.
