Rain fall ends drought in Jersey

Showers in Jersey on Saturday have brought an end to a four-week drought on the island, the Met Department says.
An absolute drought is a period of 15 days with no more than 0.1mm of rainfall per day, the department said.
Readings taken at Maison St Louis Observatory showed there was 0.2mm of rain on Saturday.
The department said it was trying to determine if the last month had been the driest April on record. More wet weather was expected, forecasters said.
