Michael Bolton's agent said tickets for a gig in Jersey sold by an events company were unauthorised.

Eric Greenspan said the concert organised by Three's A Crowd Events at the Hotel de France was never arranged.

Three's A Crowd failed to agree a contract or pay a deposit so the concert was cancelled, he said.

Last month the events firm told the ´óÏó´«Ã½ it would contact ticket holders. It has not responded to recent attempts to contact it for comment.

Mr Greenspan said his company, Myman Greenspan Fineman Fox Rosenberg & Light, was approached by Three's A Crowd about a concert in Jersey in March.

Three's A Crowd then postponed the event until the summer. When it failed to respond to queries from Mr Bolton's agent a few months ago, negotiations were terminated and the company was told Mr Bolton would not do the gig, the agent said.

Mr Greenspan said: "Although [Michael Bolton] has no legal obligation to do so he has agreed to offer complimentary tickets to an upcoming event to anyone who purchased tickets to the event at the Hotel de France and did not otherwise receive a refund.

"We are working out a procedure to accomplish this and will furnish you with more details as we work them out."

Jersey's Trading Standards said it believed Three's A Crowd was going into liquidation after islanders contacted them about not receiving refunds.

The Hotel de France can hold up to 800 people and trading standards said the tickets for the event were about £125.

On 31 May, Three's A Crowd said: "We have processed a large number of refunds and are aware that some are still outstanding but we will be contacting everyone personally over the next few days."
