In pictures: Deadly Delhi building collapse
At least 60 people have been killed by the collapse of a multi-storey building in a crowded Delhi neighbourhood.
About 80 people have been injured and many more are believed to be still trapped beneath the wreckage of the building.
Many local people tore at the rubble with their bare hands in a bid to rescue those trapped in the debris. Residents said the building was old and occupied by labourers.
Emergency crews had difficulty reaching the site of the accident in the narrow lanes of the Lalita Park residential area.
An inquiry into the collapse has been ordered by city officials. One theory is that monsoon rains weakened the building.
