As the death toll increased, so did the calls for the it to be made safer. It's now been announced that about five miles of it will be dualled - a project that will cost 拢52 million. Land will have to be vested and farmers and landowners are working out what they means to them. It won't be a straightforward job - there's the famous Frosses Trees to think about - and while the plan is to bypass them, conservationists are determined they won't be forgotten. And for those travelling up and down this well used road, don't worry - the road work signs will not be going up just yet - the Department says it could take up to five years to complete their consultations will all relevant parties - and only then will the bulldozers move in.
