Care Homes Face Closure

Five residential care homes in the Northern Health Trust area have been earmarked for closure.

If that goes ahead about one hundred and sixty residents would have to look for another place to live.

Christine Moore

The proposal is part of the Trust's plan to save up to forty four million pounds over three years.听

The homes affected are Rathmoyle in Ballycastle, Lisgarel in Larne, Clonmore in Newtownabbey, Greenisland Residential Home and Rosedale in Antrim.

大象传媒 Newsline listened to the concerns of relatives of Clonmore House residents.

Maureen Clugston

Christine Moore says the closure will impact on three generations of her family.

Maureen Clugston says her elderly mother is devastated by the news.

John Eppleston

John Eppleston has petitioned to keep Clonmore House open.
