School crossing cuts

Children's lives are being put at risk because of cost cutting by education chiefs, according to parents of pupils at a County Down primary school.

They are alarmed that the lollipop lady at St Joseph's Primary in Strangford has left and will not be replaced.

The South Eastern Education and Library Board has judged that there is no need for a patrol at听St Joseph's and says it is parents' responsibility to make sure children get to and from school safely.
