The well preserved body of a woolly mammoth has been found in Siberia.

The remains were trapped in a block of ice for more than 10,000 years and are so well preserved its skin and hair are still intact.

Scientists say the body of the young mammoth, known as Yuka, suggests that humans stole the carcass from lions.

By looking at the teeth and tusks, it's thought Yuka died from an attack by a lion when it was around two and a half years old.

The species became extinct around 3700 years ago because of a loss of the grassland where they lived.

They were like the elephants we see today, but with shaggy hair all over them, smaller ears and tails, and huge tusks up to 5m long.
