Teenage racing driver Billy Monger will receive a special award at this year's 大象传媒 Sports Personality of the Year.

He'll get the Helen Rollason award, which recognises outstanding achievement in the face of adversity.

Nicknamed "Billy the Whizz", he's an impressive British driver with race winning success in Ginetta Junior and British F4.

His life changed forever in April 2017 when Billy was just 17 years old. He had to have both his legs amputated after being in a crash during a British F4 race.

But Billy didn't let that stop him. With support from the public and all those around him, Billy showed how determined he was by returning to the racing world in March 2018 at the British F3 Championship.

It was the first time he'd taken part but he went on to get a brilliant third-place podium finish. He ended the racing season in sixth position overall.
