Zoella on social media: I'm going to stop caring about filters so much
Zoella has said that she is going to stop caring so much about what filters she uses on Instagram this year.
Up until now, the star explains that she's always made an effort to make sure she uses similar filters on her profile so that her page looks a certain way. But this year, she wants to stop worrying about always doing this.
In fact, the YouTuber is making a few promises to herself about how she wants to use social media this year.
In a post on Instagram, she said: "I don't really make resolutions but I definitely like to reflect on things I could improve on or do more or less of. One huge one being how I see and feel [about] using social media."
She explains how, next month, it will be 10 years since she wrote her very first blog post.
"Now more than ever, I second guess a lot of things I say or post," she explained, which can people feel "a little suffocated and disconnected".
So she has made some promises to herself for the new year:
- Post more without second guessing
- Post more without contemplating a perfect caption that won't offend anyone or appear like my life is so well put together
- Be as honest as I can
- Not care too much if the filter I used 'doesn't go with my grid'
- Put a little bit more 'real life' into Instagram
She also urged her followers to feel they have a bit more freedom to post what they would like without worrying about posts being completely perfect or fitting a mould.
"Follow the accounts that inspire you and unfollow the ones that make you feel iffy," she added.
