Scientists studying the fossil of a 35-million-year-old whale think they've found one of the top ancient ocean predators.
The remains of a 15-metre Basilosaurus whale skeleton, which were found in Egypt, suggest that it was a leading ocean predator rather than a scavenger.
According to new research, the remains of Basilosaurus teeth hint that it chewed food before swallowing and was capable of crushing skulls.
Apparently, the Basilosaurus even used its menacing teeth to eat sharks!
