GDT Nature Photographer of the Year 2020: Take a look

This beautiful picture of a hare was taken by photographer Peter Lindel in his hometown of Dortmund, in Germany. He came first in the Mammals category and won the overall prize in the GDT Nature Photographer of the Year 2020 competition. More than 5,000 pictures were sent in to the competition to be judged.
The entries were split into seven different categories: Birds, Mammals, Other Animals, Plants & Fungi, Landscapes, Nature's Studio, and Water. This image taken by Flurin Leugger captures the moment a wild coyote startled a flock of geese! It won the top prize in the 'Birds' category.
This incredible picture of a cheeky crocodile hiding in mud came first in the 'Other Animals' category. It was taken by Jens Cullmann.
This picture called 'New life in a dead forest' came first in the 'Plants & Fungi' category.
This magical picture of a tree in the mist was taken by Benjamin Waldmann, and won first place in the 'Landscapes' category.
This winning image from the 'Nature's Studio' category shows a blackbird singing in a tree. It was taken by photographer Jan Piecha.
This amazing picture won the top spot in the new 'Water' category and was taken by Britta Strack. It shows the Hraunfossar waterfalls in Iceland.
