It has been a huge year for superstar goalkeeper Mary (Queen of Stops) Earps.

The England and Manchester United player won the Golden Glove for being the best goalkeeper at the the World Cup; was named the world's top goalkeeper at the Best Fifa Awards; was crowned England Women's Player of the Year and voted 大象传媒 Women's Footballer of the Year.

Now Mary has added another award to her collection - the prestigious 大象传媒 Sports Personality of the Year Award.

"It feels pretty great off the back of a couple of really big years and 2023 has been wild in ways I couldn't expect," Earps said as she collected the award.

"I'm really, really grateful," she said.

Sports Personality of the Year is the main award of the 大象传媒 Sports Personality of the Year ceremony.

The winner is the sportsperson people think has achieved the most that year, voted for by the public.

Mary Earps is the second women's footballer in a row to win the 大象传媒 award, with fellow Lioness Beth Mead receiving the award in 2022.

This year Mary beat England cricketer Stuart Broad - who came second - world heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson came third, and Jockey Frankie Dettori, wheelchair tennis player Alfie Hewett and golfer Rory McIlroy were also shortlisted for the award by a group of experts.

Earlier this year Mary had a tram named after her in her home town of Nottingham.

She also became the first goalkeeper to keep 50 clean sheets in the Women's Super League.

Mary's replica footie shirt sold out within five minutes when it was finally launched, after criticism from the public that kit makers Nike didn't make one during the World Cup.
