Ten minutes into the first half, Man United midfielder Scott McTominay tapped in a rebound to take his side 1-0 up.

The hosts held on to the lead for most of the first half but Alexis Mac Allister equalised for Liverpool, three minutes before Mo Salah made it 2-1.

After the second half got going, Liverpool looked the better side but Anthony's late equaliser sent the game to extra time.

Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliot gave the visitors the lead again but it didn't last long. United's Marcus Rashford drew his side level, taking the score to 3-3.

The winning goal was scored by Man United substitute Amad Diallo who celebrated wildly with his fans.

Both goalkeepers had a busy game but it was Andre Onana who ended with a huge smile on his face. He celebrated with Scott McTominay at the final whistle.

However, Diallo, who had already picked up a yellow card earlier in the game, was shown a second yellow for removing his shirt and was sent off mid-celebrations.

It didn't dampen the Old Trafford spirits, with some fans on social media saying the atmosphere in the ground was the best it had been in years.

This will be Coventry's first FA Cup semi-final since they won the competition back in 1987.

It is extra pressure for their manager Mark Robins, as he used to play for Manchester United, helping them win the FA Cup in 1990.

United last lifted the FA Cup in 2016, and have won a whopping 12 times.

Manchester City, who won the trophy last season, will have to overcome Chelsea, who have reached five of the last seven FA Cup finals.
