Women鈥檚 FA Cup Final: History made for both Manchester United and Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur鈥檚 Bethany England and Manchester United鈥檚 Ella Toone celebrate making the final of the Women鈥檚 FA cup.

We now know the finalists for next month's Women's FA Cup final, after four teams battled it out this weekend.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur's will face each other at Wembley on 12 May.

In two close semi-final matches, United's women beat Chelsea, while Spurs women came out on top against Leicester.

The victories were historic for both teams. Read on to find out why.

Man Utd hold off Chelsea to reach Women's FA Cup final

In a rematch of last year's final that they lost 1-0, Manchester United beat Chelsea 2-1.

The result is a first victory for United over Chelsea since the women's team began in 2018.

United went in front in the first minute through a Lucia Garcia, and Rachel Williams added a second in the first half.

Former United player Lauren James pulled a goal back and United keeper Mary Earps pulled off an incredible save to keep her team in front.

The win means United will play in the Women's FA Cup final for a second year in a row.

The result also ended Chelsea's hopes of winning a treble in coach Emma Hayes' last season as manager before she becomes head coach of the United States women's team in the summer.

Spurs move to FA Cup final after extra-time goal against Leicester

On Sunday Tottenham Hotspur played against Leicester City.

It was a massive day for both teams who had never made it this far in the competition before.

After a dramatic match, Tottenham came from behind to beat Leicester 2-1 to earn their place in the final.

The scores were level after 90 minutes, but substitute Martha Thomas' looping header deep in extra time gave Spurs victory.

This will be the first time ever they have played in the FA cup final!
