The '80s pop pin-up whose career was revived by his stint in TV show I'm A Celebrity has been in Norwich. Jason Donovan was one of the first stars of Aussie soap opera Neighbours and enjoyed fame at the top of the '80s pop parade. He's also been the envy of thousands of red-blooded males around the globe after romancing his TV co-star Kylie Minogue. Packing more into 40 years than most people will in a lifetime, Jason Donovan has now penned a book divulging the details of his tumultuous life from the pop years to when he sought solace in drugs - before turning things back round to become a family man. Jason's fans gather to grab a photo. Hundreds turn outHundreds of people turned out at Waterstone's in Norwich's Castle Street to catch a glimpse of the celebrity and get their signed copies of his autobiography, Between The Lines. Some fans started queuing at 9am, eager to be the first to meet the 40-year-old who is back in the spotlight after making it through to the finals last year of jungle TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - which prompted him to write his story. "It was an opportunity having come of the Jungle last year where I managed to get back into people's consciousness and the profile was up and that show was very much about personality," he said. Still friendsHowever, it was reported when the publishing deal for the book was signed that not everyone was as happy as Jason about his autobiography coming out. His ex-lover Kylie Minogue was said to be upset that he was going to write about their relationship, but in Norwich the singer - who toured the country earlier this year - said the papers got it wrong. "She wouldn't have invited me on a television show if that was the case - and that was again one of the wonderful things that's come out of this year - the proof that the print media is so off the money," he said. "She was part of my life - we were very profile both personally and professionally and I couldn't exclude it. The pair will also be reunited on Saturday's X-Factor final. "Was it the backbone of the book - no, it's three chapters in my life - three very important chapters and she was a massive part of that." last updated: 14/12/2007 at 09:40 You are in: Norfolk > Entertainment > Arts, Film & Culture > Arts & Literature > Jason Donovan visits city
