Our World is one world at Mattishall

A playing field in Mattishall came alive to music and traditions from the four corners of the world at the start of July.

Around 1,600 children from primary schools across the Dereham area celebrated the Our World Festival.

The event was staged at Mattishall Primary to give pupils a better understanding of different cultures.

Children were treated to an afternoon of traditional Bhangra music, folk dancing, African drumming, gospel singers, Indian art, storytelling and Flemish dancing.

The pupils, aged between four and eleven, were encouraged to get involved as much as possible.

A huge circle dance, with seven rings of children performing Jewish and Flemish routines, marked the start of the afternoon.

The festival was set up by Norfolk Multicultural Services and Norfolk Education And Action for Development.

Mattishall's event was the third of five Our World Festivals being held across the county.
