The Lightning Queen

By Francesca Byrne, 11, from Mawsley.

I met in the storm the queen of lightning,
Her vivid coloured eyes stared into mine,
Her fiery temper from her vast mouth is so frightening,
Her rage seemed to emit from no time.

Her crashing voice, her rapid walk,
Her golden, dazzling, spiky robe,
The earth trembles when she talks,
The world her toy, her small glass globe.

Her castle rest softly upon an ebony cloud,
The midnight walls emit terrible cries,
Even the earth cries out aloud,
You will find her in her midnight den spinning lies.

Beware O stranger she has a serpent tongue,
Her features you may not fathom,
Townsfolk flee least they be stung,
There faces a silvery white wisp like phantoms.

Tiptoes emit a thunderstorm,
Running echoes a thumping heart,
Breathing creates thunder bolts like Thor,
Cobwebs hang upon the wall her masterpiece, her art.

I met in the storm the queen of lightning,
Her vivid coloured eyes stared into mine,
Her fiery temper from her vast mouth is so frightening,
Her rage seemed to emit from no time.
