Snow

By Daniel Mead, 11, from Hartwell.

It was a typical day for Mister Mysterious. He hunched against the wall like a mother to its baby. This was no weather to be out in. The snow vigorously battered into Henry's cheeks. He staggered forward (only to collapse with the effort of doing so).

Unfortunately, Henry couldn't make it to shelter. The snow mounds grew and grew. By morning, the biggest snow mound was 10ft. Everyone was snowed in. The snow never stopped.

Henry Mysterious was 29, he had been thrown out of his flat because he was unable to pay his rent. Suddenly, he woke up, he was a foot under snow he couldn't move his legs but his arms were moveable. He was able to move the snow off him and he tried to move to shelter but he was surrounded by snow mounds. He climbed over one and then the next one. After half and hour he found a caf茅 he searched his pockets and found three pounds. He bought a cup of coffee and a small sandwich, at least he wouldn't starve to death.

He went out of the caf茅 and out of town where he could build a little snow building. He then got to work. He built an igloo and it took about a week. When he had finished building his igloo he realised he'd had nothing to eat for days. So he set out to find some food. He found a dead wolf and took it back to the igloo and ate some good bits of meat.

Henry was listening to see if he could hear a wolf to kill for food. Suddenly, he heard a buzzing, was it a motor? Or was it his imagination? Was it his saviour or his death? He didn't know what to do other than run towards it.
