Softly the kitten climbed the stairs,
Softly the puppy scratched it's hairs,
Softly the feather floated down,
Softly the girl put on her gown.

Softly the pillow puffed up,
Softly the lamb looked at the pup,
Softly the cloud floated by,
Softly the blanket lay in dye.

Softly the fluff rolled over,
Softly the car pootled to Dover,
Softly the boy sat down,
Softly the baby put off her frown.
