Now this is how you do it. 听A stage full of smoke, musicians barely visible, and lit so you can't see their faces, and the overall impression of something sinister (or at least spiritual) materialising in front of you. And the music - it's heavy, pounding riff after riff, like a bad time following three days awake. 听It's spiritual, ethereal and heavy all at the same time, laying down a groove that if you fall into, it'll carry you along, but if not, like, a lot of people in the venue tonight, then you'll dismiss it as crap. You would be wrong to do so. As a band, they will probably never be a commercial success - their brand of drone is unlikely to find favour with the general public - but their influence and popularity among musicians is an indication that if you persevere with them, there is something special going on here. Unfortunately though the aura is broken for the encore. 听Having shuffled off-stage like the silent phantoms they have been on-stage, the band return, and shock! horror! acknowledge our presence, and even tell us that they're tired, having been on tour for three months, and that as this is the second last show, they're going to enjoy themselves, before going into a gorgeous, but indulgent, jam as the encore.
