What a flippin' night. Ground like an ice rink outside, packed to the rafters with sweaty dancing folks inside. Excellent. First up is a blinding support from local act Team Fresh. One of the most original bands from these shores we've seen in a while, they've put a unique and distinctly Norn-Irish spin on those hip hop/funk/rock beats. A Portrush Beastie Boys may not sound like a great thing in theory, but in practice it's damn near perfection. It's a bit hard to quantify exactly what works so well about Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip. Is it their slightly daft characters and personalities (complete with costume changes) which come across so well in both the tunes and their stage presence? Their genuinely chatty nature? Their thoughtful, wry and witty lyrical genius? Entrancing energy and beats? All of these things combine, with more besides, to give you one hell of an entertaining evening. Highlights include, as you would imagine, the absolutely cracking singles 'Thou Shalt Always Kill', 'Letter From God To Man' and 'Look For The Woman'. The latter prompted a lovely singalong, with all the couples singing their hearts out about a relationship that makes you die inside, much to the amusement of our hero, Scroobius. Between Scroobius' satirical commentary, and Dan's blinding beats (which ended the gig on quite a high, along with an utterly brilliant cover of Sugababes' Push The Button), these two make an captivating and dynamic duo, and are absolutely a must-see live act. Even if you reckon hip hop isn't your thing, it would take the hardest of hearts and the smallest of minds not to enjoy these two. Orla Graham Gig Details Watch Line Up
