The dimly lit Shadow Rooms sits at a still as the audience anticipate the arrival of Ended 31st. Fresh from recording their second EP Stop Dreaming, Start Something, the 4-piece kick start their set, with an a cappella introduction into one of their newer tracks, Colour-blind. Confidence and enthusiasm is channelled from the band straight into their waiting audience and it's apparent these guys came to impress. The band then begins powering into the entrancing and melodic I Don't Want To Know. The band's use of harmonies between lead singer Owen, drummer Steve and bassist Matt form an impressive backbone to these songs. Owen introduces the next track and everyone in attendance double takes after hearing him mention the word Westlife. As the audience question the person beside them on if they indeed heard right, the band storm into their cover of When You're Looking Like That the crowd appeased by the fact that Ended 31st have shattered the original Westlife version, and rebuilt it in a model which typifies exactly what Ended are all about. With half a set of energetic power pop rock under their belts, the band starts to introduce a slower tempo with, Calling For Faith, with the introductory synthesiser line showing a different side to the pop rockers. To finish off the night they returned to their latest EP, starting off with Words Unsaid, another song worthy of almost being called an anthem for the band. With bassist and drummer Matt and Steve leading the audience in the backing vocals, this song without a shadow of a doubt will go on to be a calling card for the band. The song is a disturbingly welcome mixture of Busted and Ended 31st's very own signature style. The band show their appreciation to the crowd for the last time thanking them for their attendance before introducing their final song for the night, Let Her Go. The slow starting ballad is a brilliant take down for the end of the night. As the band leave the stage lead singer Owen's final lyrics Please Don't Go seem to be a general view among the crowd. Most who would quite happily listen to the band play on. With a solid performance from start to finish it seems only a matter of time before this band are featured on more prominent bills.
