The strange thing about an Air gig is that straight afterwards, all you want to do is come home and sleep, in the best way possible. The soft, electronic sounds are kind of like a nightcap.

This is the first time that the French duo - made up of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel - had been to Belfast, and the crowd seemed very keen to embrace them. Walking on stage in matching white suits, they seemed genuinely chuffed with their reaction, opening with 'Do the Joy'.

However, a slightly odd atmosphere hung over the show, due to the performance being seated. Any stray dancers were promptly settled down, and this perhaps killed the experience a bit.

Nevertheless, the mixed crowd of young hipsters and mums and dads, did get very excited at certain points during the show. The songs that got the best reaction were from their first album, Moon Safari, released twelve years ago. 'Kelly Watch the Stars' ended the show, which left the crowd chanting for more. In the encore we heard one of Air's most famous songs; 'Sexy Boy' and then we were treated to a ten minute version of 'La Femme d'Argent', which was just beautiful.

Speaking through the synthesizer Jean-Benoit robotically said that he hopes to come back to Belfast soon, and if we want, he will come back. Well after that performance, we want.
