Live Review
Joe Brooks, Aaron Shanley
Standing outside the Oh Yeah Music Centre, waiting for the doors to open, ATL starts to wonder how cold it would have to get before deciding that seeing Joe Brooks wouldn't be worth the numbness of its hands and toes.

When the doors finally open 15 minutes late, a feel of relief fills the air as we enter the venue, desperate to warm up. Soon enough, our attention is captured as Aaron Shanley shuffles onto stage, in grey skinny jeans, a green top, a denim jacket and brown brogues - typical boy-indie style. Looking nervous he picks up an acoustic guitar and introduces himself, his appearance shows a lot more confidence than his introduction.茂驴陆

Although, to everyone in the room's amazement, from the second Aaron sings the first word of his opening song 茂驴陆Katie Hello', we watch him instantly transform into a completely different person, erasing the first impression we had all developed of a shy, confidence-lacking support act. Throughout the rest of his acoustic set Aaron gives his performance heart and finishes his set by covering 茂驴陆Never Shout Never', which suits his voice and personality perfectly, getting the crowd pumped and excited. It's a great show and he creates a mellow atmosphere inside the venue as we eagerly wait for Joe Brooks to come on as his band set up the stage.

Finally, Joe's band start to play - building up tension with an intense drumming and strumming rhythm, creating the perfect moment for Joe to jump onto stage wearing none other than shiny silver pumps - weirdly enough, pulling them off. Opening with 茂驴陆Impossible Girl', his vocals can barely be heard over the high pitched squeals coming from the female fans.

With a poor turnout of just over 100 people, Joe does a great job of interacting with the crowd, not allowing himself to become disheartened by the small show and still performing to his full potential, as if he was performing for thousands of fans.

Half way through his set for the night, he covers 茂驴陆Dancing in the Moonlight' and shows off his tambourine skills, getting everyone in the room to clap and sing along - once again showing great crowd interaction which seems to be the charm of his show.茂驴陆

Brook's vocals are the height of perfection and he shows that an acoustic show can be upbeat and exciting with his incredible performance - leaving every fan in the room completely speechless.#
