Autumn 2007
Flower Arranging

Step 1
Arrange 2 pieces of oasis in a vase but have one bigger than the other.
Step 2
Secure the oasis with oasis tape

Step 3
Insert foliage that has height into the back of the oasis, one taller piece in the middle and two shorter pieces slightly behind and at an angle to the taller piece.

Step 4
To give balance, insert a long piece of the foliage at the back, on the right side and the left side and do the same at the front.
Step 5
Insert Leather leaves around the bottom of the oasis and pitosporum around the sides of the oasis to create a triangle shape.
Step 6
Once the outline has been created the middle can now be filled in. Insert one tall Iris at the back of the oasis but infront of the tall piece of foliage and then a shorter Iris in front of that. Insert one carnation on each side of the oasis and four other carnations in the body of the oasis.
Always make sure that there is no oasis showing!

The finished arragement
Place daffodils on each side of the oasis and higher up the oasis remembering to keep the triangular shape. Daffodil stems are very soft so a good tip is to insert a twig into the daffodil stem and that will allow the daffodil to remain secure in the oasis.
Then, all is left to do is to place roses towards the front of the display.
