Her hands but held my tiny form,
But touched me in her sweet cocoon.
She talked to me when I could but hear,
She stroked my arms, my legs, my head when I could but feel.
She saw a thousand faces and a thousand people,
When she rocked me in her awkward, loving embrace.

I was her agony, the times she sickened.
I was her joy, flailing limbs against her womb.
I was her companion, in times of loneliness.
Countless names, in times of thought.

I ate her food, I drank her water,
I breathed her air, for I was her.
I was, I am and she loves me always,
And I remember and I feel and I hear
Those months and those years
Through want and love and kinship of her.
