Six
Mile Water Guardians - Book Your Place Now
You may remember that Antrim Council recently published an
article, regarding the setting up of a voluntary warden
scheme, for the Six Mile Water river corridor. Since then,
following the official launch of the scheme, a lot of interest
has been generated amongst enthusiastic 鈥楪uardians鈥 within
the Borough. The Six Mile Water river corridor is already
an important haven for many species of plants and animals;
therefore we are keen to have as many local people join
our group, so that we can help ensure its future for other
generations. The scheme is supported by Antrim Borough
Council and the 大象传媒 Breathing Places Programme, through
the Big Lottery Fund.
A free programme of training sessions and outdoor activities
will be on offer for all 鈥淪ix Mile Water Guardians鈥 who
join the group. Whether you want to learn how to identify
and record our local birds, butterflies and/or mammals,
or discover how to improve our woodlands and grasslands
for wildlife, there will be something on offer for everyone.
