WILD BELFAST PROGRAMME SUMMER 2010
A full progamme of events in and around Belfast to highlight our wildlife and wild places. See the programme for full details.



MOTHING EVENT - TOOMEBRIDGE
Saturday 28th August - 9.30am. Hutchinsons Sand Site at Toomebridge. Kerry Leonard will be identifying lots of moths found at the site and in the local area, many of which are ones likely to be in your own garden!

LET'S GO BATTY
Saturday 28th August - 7.30pm to around 10pm. Belfast Zoo, Belfast. Join us for a night walk around the zoo. Use your bat detector to find the ultrasonic noises of bats which are native to Northern Ireland.

Booking is essential for this event and tickets cost 拢5 per person.

CASTLE ARCHDALE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AND NATURE DAY
Saturday 28th August - 1pm to 5pm. Castle Archdale, Co.Fermanagh. Join staff in removing alien species from the country park woodland and have a look at various species growing around the park. Fun activities for everyone to enjoy! Admission is free. For more information please contact 028 9185 3621.

CLOGHY ROCKS SEAL WATCH
Sunday 12th September. Cloghy Rocks Nature Reserve. 2pm - 5pm. A great 'Seal Watch' opportunity wth no need for a boat trip. Drop in throughout the afternoon for grat views and learn something from NIEA staff on site. For more information tel. 028 4461 5520.

APPLE DAY IN PEATLANDS PARK, DUNGANNON

Sunday 24th October. 11am - 5pm. Peatlands Park. Come and experience the beauty of the park, and see apple crafts, apple cooking apple products for sale 鈥 including a variety of apple trees! Free train rides on the Peatland鈥檚 train 鈥淥rchard Express鈥 for all to enjoy!

ULSTER WILDLIFE TRUST - GENERAL

Through our events we aim to inspire and educate people of all ages to care for and enjoy their local environment and its wildlife. Our events are free of charge to UWT members, and unless stated otherwise, 拢2 for non-members per adult and 拢1 for non-members per child. Our events are generally suitable for all ages, however some practical events are not suitable for under 16s. At all events under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

GLENVEAGH'S TREE TRAIL
A new self guided tree trail is now available free of charge at the Visitors' Centre or from the Nature Team. The walk talks about both native and non-native trees from the Visitors' Centre to the Castle. Call in and collect your free map or download it from .
