"A hundred and ten years of service at an end." That was  how a consultant described the situation at the Tyrone County hospital in Omagh, at a vigil to mark the official end of acute in-patient care there. It means some people who need urgent medical help will have to travel to Enniskillen or Derry. Louise Cullen reports. |

The Western Health and Social Care Trust is insisting that the network of services available now is adequate. A new acute hospital in Enniskillen won't be completed until 2012. But Joe Lusby, the Trust's Deputy Chief Executive, says that's not really so long to wait. |
