The Other Night
By Chris W. Magee
Madly dancing branches,
In waves of wind and rain.
Frantic running water,
Streams gushing to the drain.
Clock chanting rhythm,
A paper rustle sigh,
Crack and creak of ancient seat,
A look of mind, not eye.
The click of the porch door,
Feet scuff the lino floor.
Have ye locked up ?
Aye.
Well pull a chair up to the fire.
It would skin ya outside!!
