Where Is That Girl?
By Geraldine Mc Mullan Doherty
Sitting quiet in my old rocking chair
Living alone this house feels so bare
Watching the clock ticking time away
Becoming wrinkled older each day
Faded picture aged with time
Beautiful girl it's me in my prime
Golden curled locks now threaded grey
Don't like being old nor frail this way
Fingers twisted bent sideways with pain
I look at the picture again and again
Where is the girl I once used to be?
I can't see her here I see only me!
Shrunken old lady waiting on God's call
Not a beautiful girl who hangs on my wall.
