Where/Why did you start surfing?
Caught the bug in Surfers Paradise of all places. Was bored with
the place, got a lesson with a lass called Tracey Chilcott. Hooked
since day one.

Any surfing honours, comp wins
etc?
None, most of us locally are free surfers. Though I harbour a
secret desire to enter a senior longboard comp someday, to see
if I don’t come last.

in Ireland for sure". Discuss:
It surely is, and it's going to get more popular with all the
positive press, and the radical improvements with gear that means
that people don’t freeze so badly in the winter. It's pretty
much why we started this community/batch - to make sure that the
scene here was at least partly informed by locally based people
who are here all year. Some surfers hate it getting popular. I
do too when I see the bad sides of it, but I think as long as
we all keep talking and communicating that Ireland can remain
the cold water jewel we all cherish.

Favourite Surfer/s and why:
Loads. Mark 'Occy' Occilupo just because of his amazing comeback
story. The Bull Oliver and people like Josh Maree and Joe Williams
for what they have taught me. Locally, I get a stoke when people
like Hugh are sat out back on bigger days. Skellington regulars
though, we salute you: Nico, Mont, Kazoo, jAy, Mickma, Josh, Conall,
Carey, Shimbop etc

can't put it into words really. I know it's changed my life whatever
it is…
