How long you surfing? Around a year or so

Ìý

3 sentences that describe you/what you do

To pay for the good things I work in aesthetics, if you need something to look good I’m your man. I’m also obsessed with the preparation of quality cuisine and enjoy fine wines, so don’t turn up with Blossom Hill.

Ìý

Where/Why did you start surfing?
Enniscrone I think. The discovery of the perfect Irish activity were getting cold and wet are an integral part of the sport. And as they say, once you pop you just can’t stop!

Ìý

Any surfing honours, comp wins?

Just in it for kicks

Quiver (ie detail/s of your board/s), plus your fav board:
7 “6 Westbay Hybrid, Love my 9 “2 Westbay for sheer retro class.

"Surfing is getting more popular in Ireland for sure". Discuss: There are some surfers out there who would rather it wasn’t, but it can only really be a good thing if it gets people off their rears and outside. The more the merrier.

Most surf friendly pubs / gigs / eateries:
Sandino’s of course. The best eatery is a little place called Sugar Juice Café, Opunake in NZ. Seriously top quality Fish and singing Chef’s.

Favourite Surfer/s and why:
Alastair Mennie and Andrew Cotton for showing the world the might of the Irish waves.

Best thing about surfing:
Where do I start! Being showered by the sea in an offshore breeze, post surf beans and sausages cooked on the gas stove. Finding the ideal break after spending the day scouring the coast, and not a soul on it.

Ìý

Your top music/reading/movies/media, surf or otherwise:

Music: Has to be Underworld, best live act ever.

Radio: Ralph McLean’s evening shows. Restored my faith in Radio.

Reading: The Swarm makes for decent holiday reading if a little inappropriate for ocean activities.

Movie: Thicker than Water was a great show, with an excellent clip from Bundoran. Great soundtrack too.

Any ambition as a surfer?
Surf until I die.

Dream surf trip:
Donegal on a good day is going to be hard to beat.

Ìý

Anything else to declare?
West is Best
